Sydney's level 3 media blog (cultural and digital age)

For this project, the end result definitely came out way worse that I what I had envisioned. This is due to a number of reasons such as files not properly downloading, the video going blurry randomly etc. But up until then, the project was going smoothly. The main skill that I have but during this project was research skills and problem solving. Even though what would of been the solution to the problems were not working, as in files corrupting, downloads not working etc, it has still helped me build up my problem solving skills as I now know how I can fix certain issues to an extent. This can also tie into the research skill as I have had to cross reference a lot of thing on how to fix certain problems. Another example of research skill is client research , researching different types of documentaries, equipment, examples of documentaries of certain styles etc.

14/04/2022 In this lesson I began editing the visuals for the documentary. I was going to use premier pro but due to it still being faulty, i have had to use Imovie on my phone and college Mac . This was the best app choice as i already had this software on my phone and it is convenient and easy to use. 15/04/2022 I resumed the editing process in this lesson. What i was doing editing-wise in this lesson was mainly just putting the clips in the right order and making sure they flew seamlessly. 18/04/2022 What i done in this lesson was adding in the audio over the top and matching it up so it matched the visuals.     19/04/2022 During this lesson, the editing process did not go smoothly. This is because after downloading the video so far to then import it into iMovie, it would not let me import it into iMovie. I researched why and then followed the advice that the internet gave me (I crossed referenced)  but for some reason, that wouldn't work either! Picture show...

 After the production of the video, I then began the editing process for the video. The software that I used was iMovie instead of premier pro. I was going to use premier pro but as it didn't work and has had a history for me not working, my best bet was to use another editing software and I chose iMovie as it already comes with most apple products and it is another week know, easy to use software.  To start of the editing process, I imported the needed clips and then put them in the right order. For this project no effects were needed to be used in the editing process so this made the editing a lot more easier. So the next thing I had to do was clip parts of the clips that were un-needed. After that I then unlinked the audio from the clips and then deleted them. This process was necessary as it is an expository documentary so this means it needed a voice over and I didn't want any background noise for when I then imported the needed audio clips. 11/04/2022 I kicked off the production stage by finding suitable archive YouTube videos that are going to be used in the video. I then used a safe YouTube downloader to download the videos. The types of videos that i downloaded were archive footage from people using the early era of the internet.  12/04/2022 For this lesson, I continued searching for the needed YouTube videos and downloading them to later edit.  13/04/2022 I then started filming the needed clips for the documentary. Most of the needed clips were simple, easy to film short clips of stuff such as someone scrolling through social media. The equipment I needed for the clips were : my phone, a camera, camera battery and an sd card. I did not need a tripod as it was suitable for me to just hold the camera as I was scrolling through my phone.  After I finished filming, I then went back to the pc and took the sd card out of the camera and inserted it into the pc.
